How to Keep Track of Your FICO Credit Score

Postby Captain Terrible on Thu Dec 20, 2007 4:45 pm

I got my free credit report from http://www.annualcreditreport.com but it doesn't tell me my FICO score. Since credit card companies and loans use that score what's the best (cheapest) way to get my score and keep track of it. If I want to try to improve it I need to be able to check in on it regularly :geek: .

Good point. Your credit score generally doesn't tell you your FICO score. Your FICO score is derived from information on your credit report. Since credit card companies and many loan companies look at your FICO score its important for you to know what it is. Not only that, if you want to focus on improving it you need to be able to view it regularly along with your credit report. We have three resources for monitoring your FICO score on our website at: http://www.studentplatinum.com/credit-c ... /index.php

Generally these services cost you between $9.99 and $14.99 per month to monitor and report your FICO score on demand. This can be useful if you are actively working to improve it.
