Hello Noodle7417,

Credit cards are a great way to build your credit score. You should try to secure a credit card and then make small purchases with it, BUT be sure to pay them on time at the end of each month. That way you will not be as badly impacted by the interest rate (your interest rate will be high initially as you have no established credit), and you will be building credit with your monthly on time payments. As long as you are responsible with your credit card that is a great way to go.

Now if you do get turned down you may want to consider getting a store card like Express, Sears, Best Buy, or something like that. They have looser credit standards. In fact, my first card was a Sears card before graduating to a Visa card with a $500 limit on it. Sweet!

GO get em' Noodle! And tell em' Professor Plastic sent ya!~
